Public bug reported: Ubuntu 8.04
Using the "Network" option in System > Administration > to set a domain breaks /etc/hosts. It changes the file so that the line: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost myhostname Is changed to two lines: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 myhostname.mydomain Which breaks the system. You have to manually change the line to read: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost myhostname.mydomain in order to be able to launch administration applications. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- (hardy) using network manager to set domain breaks /etc/hosts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236461 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
