It looks like the bug that i was the only one to have wasn't only related to
me ... maybe that would been confirmed if others would have check this

It's the same button as you : the upper right hand corner X (quit) of the
window manager (Gnome).
I already tried disabling every extensions (i only have the default theme) and
every plugins.

- home-page setting : display last tab used
- privacy settings check the option always delete personals informations
when closing firefox then check the option browing history
Load a website and try :
- closing firefox using the menu file close
- closing firefox
Im using firefox rc2 and first i dont see a red X but using the upper right
hand corner X (quit) and restarting brings up the old tab plus the one i
clicked on to open. same with filequit
I changed the settings to what you told me above.

I reproduced the bug after disabling every addons, languages and plugins
(and of course after a restart).

Please test the firefox 3 RC1 packages that are available for testing

After reinstalling (sudo apt-get --purge remove firefox-3.0 sudo apt-get
install firefox-3.0) firefox from the ubuntu packages, i created a new profile
(firefox -P) and started firefox using this new profile.
I was able to reproduce the bug ... the same way as before.
