Hi lord-ltsmash,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Comments on another bug report (bug 186167) say that the message about
driver sd is harmless. Whether this is accurate in your case, I don't
know.
Ubuntu stores dmesg logs in /var/log/dmesg, then /var/log/dmesg.0, then
successively older ones in /var/log/dmesg.n.gz.
I'm happy to try to help, but
So, anybody wishing to help?
is not that important to me as an Archlinux user, but I like to help
Ubuntu by reporting bugs, if you don't care then meybe I shouldn't at
all...
I'll try to use 8.04.1 to see if this is fixed, if it's not I hope
someone is willing to fix this.

I've got more information, when booting in safe mode the system shows
this, and then some info about the drives and then just freezes:
Driver 'sd' needs updating - please use bus_type methods
It show something about the drives but I don't know where Ubuntu saves

Important qualifier: don't blindly follow those instructions, as they
could (further) damage your system if that's not the problem. First,
check whether you are using the sort of optical drive that bug 213639
concerns. If so, then it is probably worth trying to follow the
instructions.

Hi again
As it happens, I've recently come across a bug which may be related to
this--it also concerns problems with optical drives, which are due to a
recent kernel update, so would not have been seen on older versions of
Ubuntu. Can you look at bug 213639, and specifically at
https://bugs.launch
Nothing unusual, older Ubuntu's have been working fine for me...
The install is a fresh one...
All the distros I have run on this machine have no problems with the
drives.
I actually run Arch linux as my Main OS.
There doesn't appears any errors, it just seems to be the kernel boot
output...

Truth be told, I have no idea. I suspect you'll need someone better
informed than me. But I'll ask a few more questions, because I can
hopefully guess what information will be useful:
Does it give you any potentially informative messages? You say it's

I'm sorry, I thought I have given more details (as I usually do :p)
Yeah, I tried to enter in boot safe mode, but no luck. the system just
freezes where it says something about the DVD/CD drives.
Do you need any file contents?
