Public bug reported:

Hi,

After upgrading to Hardy, by desktop PC with a wired network connection has had
a much slower connection speed - often no better than 5KiB/s. eth0 seems to be
getting lots of errors and dropped packets.
NB, with this system, I have to boot noapic, otherwise the net connection often
doesn't work at all.

My laptop continues to have decent connection speed through the same
ADSL modem/router (wirelessly).

Some debug info:
$ ping -c 100 192.168.1.1
<snip>
100 packets transmitted, 91 received, 9% packet loss, time 99041ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.603/0.689/0.747/0.043 ms

$ cat /etc/lsb-release

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.04"

More debug info to be attached...
