I have some new information, it seems that on boot, the touchpad settings are applied correctly, but then it seems that the kernel loses connection to the touchpad and reconnects, but once it does this, then the touchpad settings are lost here is a kern.log file showing some interestering lines on

I have a similar problem. I have tap-to-click turned off in the applet and vertical scrolling turned on. However, my touchpad randomly decides to turn tap-to-click on, at odd times (I haven't figured out if anything in particular triggers it). Scrolling also stops working when this happens. -- T

I have a similar problem. If I disable touchpad from System->Preferences->Mouse, it is disabled until I go to standby. When I come back from standby, the "Enable touchpad" checkbox is unchecked, but the touchpad works. I need to check/uncheck it again to disable touchpad. -- Touchpad settings do
