I'm running jaunty from a fresh intrepid install.
epiphany is downloading in /tmp.
I'm seeing that in epiphany preferences the downloading folder is set to
"file system", and even if I change it to Desktop (as I was used),
closing the preferences and opening them again re-set downloading folder

I realise that, I do tend to attack when I'm annoyed about things.
Perhaps it's because I'm a Scot (Andy Murray and all that).
I look forward with hope that Epiphany 2.24 and WebKit being done before
Intrepid.

the code is written by the upstream team not ubuntu, and no epiphany-
browser is not the priority right now since it's not the default
browser, especially than upstream has not interest to continue working
on the xulrunner version

This started happening after XULRunner 1.9 final was made available. I
suppose the Ubuntu developers don't really care too much about Epiphany.
Sometimes, the XULRunner download dialogue appears also.
