Public bug reported:

After upgrading linux package from 2.6.24-18.32 to 2.6.24-19.33, I begun
receiving SATA exceptions from "dmesg". After those messages, my file
systems get remounted read-only.

Downgrading to 2.6.24-18.32 fixes all my problems. So, I believe there
is a bug in 2.6.24-19.33 from hardy-proposed.

Unfortunately, I can not help so much in fixing the bug, because the bug
appeared on a prodution server I manage. I can not test new kernel
packages in it. I hope informations I provide help you.

Actually, my server is a desktop computer serving Web, SAMBA and FTP
services... It uses Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and AMD64 architecture. The kernel
the server uses is linux-server-2.6.24-18-server (package version is
2.6.24-18.32). The kernel the server could not use is linux-
image-2.6.24-19-server (package version is 2.6.24-19.33). I installed
linux-ubuntu-modules also, but not linux-backports-modules.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
