Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lirc
When upgrading to the latest lirc package (0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7.1), the /etc/lirc/lircd.conf is moved to lircd.conf.dpkg-old, and is replaced with a new, empty config file... I don't know if it is by design, but this behaviour results in a broken lirc. I would expect, if a not empty config file is present, to keep it as the active config file, and that the new - empty - config file to be renamed to something like "lirc.conf.new-dpkg"... $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04 Release: 8.04 $ apt-cache policy lirc lirc: Installed: 0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7.1 Candidate: 0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7.1 Version table: *** 0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7.1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.8.3~pre1-0ubuntu7 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages ** Affects: lirc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- good lircd.conf moved to lircd.conf.dpkg-old on pkg upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240022 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
