Package evolution-exchange (2.22.1-0ubuntu1) at http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/gnome/evolution-exchange reports as dependencies dep: libldap-2.4-2 (>= 2.4.7) OpenLDAP libraries Downloading the package evolution-exchange_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb, unpacking by dpkg-deb -x evolution-exchange_2.22.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb /tmp/evol and running ldd /tmp/evol/usr/lib/evolution/2.22/evolution-exchange-storage | grep libldap shows libldap_r-2.4.so.2 => /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.4.so.2 (0xb7d7f000) libldap-2.3.so.0 => not found i.e. 2.3 instead of 2.4. Installed on my system is libldap-2.4 #ls -l /usr/lib/libldap* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2008-06-13 21:40 /usr/lib/libldap-2.4.so.2 -> libldap_r-2.4.so.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 2008-06-13 21:40 /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.4.so.2 -> libldap_r-2.4.so.2.0.3 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 249924 2008-04-08 07:34 /usr/lib/libldap_r-2.4.so.2.0.3 It also requires liblber, 2.3 expected and not found, 2.4 installed This is related to bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239052 and seems to be the cause of (some of) the evolution-exchange problems reported there.
