Public bug reported: Hi, I am using a Belkin F5D7050 v 4000 Wireless G USB device which uses the rt73 driver.
My problem is that whenever the card is using a lot of bandwidth, e.g. downloading updates and other things, the whole computer seems to go all choppy. even the mouse and trying to movie windows. It just gets laggy as if the CPU was at 100% load when it isn't. It sometimes does it while loading large web pages and doing things typically bandwidth consuming. I have not seen it happen while performing low bandwidth tasks like using aMSN or most of the time while browsing. I am running Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 32Bit with all the latest updates. I am running the following setup: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13Ghz RAM: 4GB DDR2-667 GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT with the latest drivers HDD: 320GB, ubuntu running on a 40GB partition MOBO: Intel DG965SS ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] rt73 card makes computer choppy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240695 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
