I guess it's like Debian stable and Debian sid where Debian sid is synonymous with Debian unstable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debian_Sid Unstable/Sid is the probably the more recent version, but less tested. I think they even have beta which is maybe even more recent. But I'm not an expert in

It's not such a big problem though, opera has its own repo: just add http://deb.opera.com/opera/ sid non-free to your sources list. Works fine and it always gives you the latest opera. -- [new-upstream] opera 9.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241039 You received this bug notification because

Sorry, silly question: how do I get opera from the repos? I can't find it even if I add the partner repos. As to this issue, I would really support this request. Opera is currently much more stable than Firefox, especially for flash applications. -- [new-upstream] opera 9.6

@Bernhard Koenig Are you running Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit? Apparently that's the reason that Opera is not appearing for me since they only offer 9.27 and x86_64 builds were released with Opera 9.5+. For now it seems you'll just have to manually download Opera from opera.com, but you can read some

OK, so I'll give you another bump. :) I just downloaded the 64bit version from their website and it's fantastic! A couple of flash apps that never worked with FF are suddenly working. And it has very nice features. Sure FF has lots of add-ons and is also a good browser, but opera is a fantastic

Who is in charge of keeping Opera up-to-date for Ubuntu? This update request doesn't seem to be making a difference. We need to get this updated for Ubuntu 8.10. There's no reason for it not to be updated when Opera has the deb files easily downloadable from the Opera.com/download page. People
