sudo rm /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libtotem-complex-plugin.*
is actually enough to get it working. If you want it back you just
reinstall totem-mozilla.

You might find the workaround for getting Firefox to use RealPlayer for
RealAudio streams from the BBC Radio Player (and elsewhere) by removing
the libtotem-complex plugin handy. See
