Public bug reported: Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose
Ubuntu Version: Hardy Heron (Up to date at time of writing) Problem Package: virtualbox-ose 1.5.6-dfsg-6ubuntu1 Problem In Detail: In my XP virtual machine I have a folder mounted as a "Networked drive" using VirtualBox's built in, shared folders function. When I change only the case of a filename (ie 'testing.txt' into 'Testing.txt', no other character additions or removals) within the folder, the changes do not "stick" and the original case remains. I can replicate this over and over again and it seems to be a VirtualBox issue and not related to Windows or anything else. I do have the necessary permissions on the ext3 drive of the shared, and I have enabled writing in the Vbox share. Doing the same thing over a samba share mounted as a networked drive, or even on the desktop of the virtual machine does not give me the same problem. I will be following the status of this thread, and I hope that if other people are having the same problem they will come forward. ** Affects: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: case filename share xp -- Changes in the Case of Filename do not stick on Mounted Share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242296 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
