Gutsy is no longer a supported version and since Hardy we have had the
Firefox language packs inside the distro language packs. I think we can
safely close this. At best, a note should be added to the upgrade wiki
page from Gutsy and before to Hardy noting that if they use a non-
English locale,
Can someone test to see if the upgrade path from the last LTS to Lucid
is safe from this issue? If we can confirm that the problem is safe
there, then we can probably close this bug.

Hello,
I experienced the same issue during the passage from Firefox 3.0 to
Firefox 3.0.1 : all the menus were in english.
I solved the problem by reinstalling 'language-support-fr'.
By the way, the packages 'mozilla-firefox-locales-XX' should really depend on
Firefox 2, not only on
Erratum : I solved the aforementioned problem by reinstalling language-
pack-fr, language-pack-fr-base, language-support-fr, language-support-
translations-fr and language-support-writing-fr.
I don't know which one solved the bug...

I used the same workaround as Nicolas, so this is not an issue *for me*
anymore.
But AFAIK it is still an issue for any french (and probably any non
en_US) user who will upgrade from an older Ubuntu.

Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
