Public bug reported: I have followed the instructions on this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ComposeKey and still cannot get my compose key to work properly. For example, I hold down shift+altGR then release then type o/ and all I get is o/ rather than the ø that the instructions say I should get.
I can, however, get the ø by holding altGR and hitting o. I want to be able to type an em-dash using my compose key and have been told (from forums) that I should be able to press my compose key and type ---. and it should give me an em dash. However, when I try this i get ---. or \\\· depending on whether I'm holding altGR or not. I have ask forums about this problem with little response so I assume this is a bug. I am also affected by bug #196277, however I workaround this by having setxkbmap in my startup programs. I'm using a UK layout. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compose key not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
