NM does configure both interfaces. That's fine.
If you can't print then there is a problem without the routing table.
You should add the needed routing information under Edit Connections.

I'm now using Lucid (fully up to date) after clean install. Initially I
connected to router using wired eth0. Worked fine. Now I sometimes
connect to another router using wireless connection (both routers are at
home). That works OK. However, Network Manager applet shows both the
wired wireless
This bug is still present in Intrepid with all the latest upgrades.
My /etc/network/interfaces file follows:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
The information given did not change the status of the bug, therefore I
am re-opening it.

I think this is hardy? If you have entries in /etc/network/interfaces it
means that NM doesnt manage them. Setting all your interfaces to
Roaming will make NM take control again. Removing everythign except
iface lo .. entries from /etc/network/interfaces will have the same
effect as Roaming mode.
I have this problem in Intrepid. It started with Intrepid and did not
occur in Hardy.
When ethernet is connected and wireless is also connected, it is not
possible to use either device. The internet is inaccessible. I have an
Dell XPS M1330 with Intel 3945 wireless card.
Workaround: disable
Mysteriously neither the wired nor the wireless connections now work! My
/etc/network/netfaces only has entry for lo. I've tried amending it for
a static eth0 but no good. The network manager applet shows connection
wirelessly with the appropriate addresses set correctly (i.e. for ip,
route,
