Taking QCAD out of draft mode worked for me. I guess it was just
operator error in my case.

Hatches will not be displayed (including preview) if draft mode is
active (View > Draft).

It is not working on my desktop PC (home made), also 8.10 (I did an update
today)... desktop effects are turned off, the graphics card is a on board ATI
Radeon HD 3300 with 8.54.3 driver.
The sudo thing never helped me before...

I have 8.10 on my ACER ASPIRE ONE, QCADs hatching is working. I will
test the other PC next month.

Thanks for the bug report. To try to narrow down this bug can both of you
confirm the following information:
* what Ubuntu release you are using.
* is there a difference in hatching if you run qcad with sudo? if so, which
way works?
* what graphics cards do you have and which work/don't wor
In my case running sudo qcad is NOT showing the hatch in preview. I have
a second PC with ATI GFX card without hatch problem, this PC has a
NVIDIA GFX card... maybe this is an issue??

I have same problem but when Qcad is started by root from the command
line it works OK. May be permission problem but they all look good to
me.
