The reporter of this bug just commented three days ago; it should
probably stay open a bit longer before closing since the issue still
exists.
For the record, we're waiting for Tom to try out some non-Java
Bittorrent clients.

Bitorrent clients work fine here eg KTorrent. The bug refered to
Breezy. The original submitter says mark the bug as invalid but up to
you.
Sun java is/will be released under a free license anyway - it was
announced earlier in the year.

using Azureus for several months and never had a problem with it.
Does the bug still exist in the latest version of (k)ubuntu, Dapper
Drake 6.06.1 ? Please try Dapper and give us an update if you can.

The clients do not work with the free version of java, this was the root
cause.
I am not sure which status fits this bug report, probably invalid but

As far as I know, the only client to use Java is Azureus. Would you be
able to apply good settings as defined on the Azureus wiki
Also, it's generally a good idea to shy away from 6881 as your port of
choice since ISPs tend to block them. See
