thanks for your report, what's the external speakers? do you have a
laptop? do you get the same with totem? don't think it's a rhythmbox
bug.

I actually do not get the same result with totem, the speakers work
fine.
I mean, who listens to music through their PC speaker? The speakers I
have are a simple Creative Subwoofer/Two tweeter thing. Cheap but
effective.
I have a desktop as well, not a laptop.
