This bug was reported a long time ago against Intrepid's Alpha release.
It's my experience that the proprietary Nvidia drivers *always* break
during Alpha. Is this still a problem for you on the final release of
Intrepid, or on the Beta release of Jaunty?

In addition, 'System Admin Hardware Drivers' does not open anything.

This has nothing to do with kernel nv driver - I was using nvidia module - the
proprietary one.
Sorry for confusion :-(
