/proc is not mounted; some java apps may fail

It seems to rely on a certain device name for the mount:
    mount | grep -qs '^proc on /proc' || echo >&2 "/proc is not mounted; some 
java apps may fail"

if it is anything but 'proc', the system will be perfectly functional,
but this warning will trigger.  This doesn't seem to have any side
effects, but is disconcerting nonetheless.
