Public bug reported:
ATI Catalyst Control Center (amdcccle) detects 512MB VRAM correctly.
xorg does not:
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log|grep VideoRAM
(--) fglrx(0): VideoRAM: 262144 kByte, Type: DDR4
this was tested with AMD64 HARDY 8.04.1 with drivers ranging from 8.3 to 8.6
gpu is a third party RadeonHD 3870 Chip, 3D acceleration works fine
