Have you tried:
- disable screen server in your Windows XP (running as a guest)
- type your password in vi (or any other text editor in your Hardy) and then
copy and paste into your Windows XP

I have the same problem. I think it's a severe problem because if the
screensaver kicks in and locks the screen, I can't log back in - every
time I try to type my password, the password box just blinks out and
won't accept input. This is on my work machine and the only thing I can
do is hard
I have just tried switching between us layout and th (thai) layout and
it does not work. ... sigh

well... i haven't tried to reset the keyboard layout yet but that is too
much
