Public bug reported: Binary package hint: virt-manager
1) Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64 2) virt-manager 0.5.3-0-ubuntu10 package. 3) The wizard for creating a new virtual machine should allow user to review and change the hardware setup of the machine before it is actually booted. 4) The wizard for creating a new virtual machine in virt-manager accepts only cd-rom (as a boot device) and a single hard disk and after clicking Finish it boots immediately. This makes impossible to have two disk images (i.e. one for the system and a separate swap image or whatever else). A workaround is to destroy the currently booted virtual machine and edit the hardware details (i.e. add again the CD-ROM ISO image to boot from and the other disk). After installation of the new system to the virtual machine from the CD-ROM, the boot drive needs to be changed to a hard disk and/or the CD-ROM be manually removed. This bug is somewhat related to bug #227533 since it discloses that the wizard should allow the user to modify freely the hardware and boot device before actually booting. ** Affects: virt-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Creating a new virtual machine does not allow to select hardware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248404 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
