Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 (32-bit) on an HP DV1000 Laptop.

I am running the v2.0.12-0ubuntu2 version of Ekiga.

When I go through the configuration druid, everything works fine. The
audio test passes using the default audio device and there is no problem
hearing myself on the 4-second echo. I am using the ALSA manager.

However, when I go to use the software, the audio sliders are stuck to
the left which means the audio levels are both zero.

If I call [EMAIL PROTECTED], it says that I am connected, but I don't hear
anything. I assume I am connected. The connected icon says I am
connected until I manually disconnect. The log says that the "Local user
cleared the call." It says "Registered Accounts: 1" so I think my
diamondcard.us account is all set.

Expected behavior: Audio sliders go to desired location, audio can be heard.
What happened: Audio sliders go back to zero after letting go of mouse.

** Affects: ekiga (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
