This worked for me: 1. Disable Compiz 2. Close and open Firefox (the borders should appear again). 3. Enable Compiz 4. Close and open Firefox (the borders should be still there). I rebooted the computer to see if It still worked and yes... they were there. -- Firefox steals window border events
