I've experienced a similar problem. All my navigation buttons were greyed out and it seemed as if all my settings weren't being loaded. I would get a blank page upon load. Turns out some of my files in my .mozilla directory were owned by root. I solved it with a quick "sudo chown -R user:user ~/.mo
