I have nothing to add. I have upgraded video cards in all my systems,

The files contain no trace of a crash, and so they aren't much use. The
crash should leave a trace at the end of one of the log files. Without
it, there is absolutely nothing we can do, which is why I closed the

It looked as though kat had provided the necessary information, but it
sounds as though it wasn't useful. I'm a VERY new user, I just
installed my first version of ubuntu (I believe the 8.04 version) and
this started happening (user lLogin to password to black screen for a
