I am confirming the bug. Self-reboot happens from time to time.
I do not see any regularity, nor a context in which a reboot happens.
The system is Ubuntu 8.04.2, but I use KDE.
Syslog contains:

I was just surfing the web when my computer decided to reboot itself
without any warning, not a brutal one but a clean reboot with an ubuntu
shutdowning screen. I'm under Hardy Heron 8.04.1

The next time you experience this can you also attach your full
/var/log/syslog file? I didn't see anything glaringly obvious in the
kernel log file either so I'm suspecting it might be another package.
The syslog you pasted in your description did have a segfault so I'm
