the issue and can reply to their questions, did you try to stop
pulseaudio and see if you still get the issue?

stop pulseaudio there

gst-launch uses an URI, you need to use file:///directory/to/example, if
you are not sure how to handle spaces etc just rename the example to
something which has an easy naming

No, this happens on all my MP3's, not only on one file.
No, if I change from Autodetect to ALSA, OSS, or Pulse, it does not
get better.
No, I don't have package gst-launch-0.10 installed. Nor, can I find it
in the repo.
$ sudo apt-get -s install gst-launch-0.10
E: Couldn't find package
gst-launch-0.10 is in gstreamer0.10-tools, weird that this one is not
installed and that command-not-found don't tell you what package to
install, did you do a standard ubuntu installation?

Now I tried to run 'gst-launch-0.10' and it seems it was installed. I thought
it wasn't.

I have this problem not only in Rhythmbox but also in Totem Browser Plugin,
it works fine in Totem though.
