Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
When running multiple monitors with individual x sessions, I cannot open Firefox on more than one monitor without using separate profiles. Firefox complains that it is already running. There is a workaround involving multiple profiles, but it is a clunky way of doing it. Assumed problem: Firefox is prevented from opening the same profile more than once, possibly because this can cause sync problems, or broken files. OS: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Packages: firefox3 (3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3) Behaviour: Firefox starts ok on each screen when started only on one screen, but trying to start an instance on a different screen, results in a message saying that firefox is already running. Expected behaviour: I would expect Firefox to be able to start separately on all screens, regardless of whether it was running on another screen already.
