The good or bad (?) news is: I cannot reproduce this bug anymore.
Since f-spot is still on 0.7.1, there must have been an update in X - is that
possible?
Otherwise, I can only imagine this bug to be caused by a theme. I changed the
theme since - as I change themes pretty often, being interested

By the way, I can add music files to a music CD project just fine.
Adding the same file to a data project crashes brasero like above.
IIRC, I was once able to add files to a project even in Hardy. The
current state (crash every single time, without exception) is the same
for quite some time,

that's more like a driver issue rather than a brasero bug, which video
driver are you using? are you using compiz does it happens without it?

Yes, compiz is running with gtk-window-decorator.

a) The exact same error occurs when using metacity without compiz
b) On the same machine, but with a different account (A not new but
rarely used guest account. Therefore settings-wise, it's pretty fresh),
the error does *not* occur.
