addendum: reactivating the shadows in the current KDE4 Session solves the issue too. It seems to be a bug in kwin-kde4. Could sb telll me. how backtrace this behaviour both in fglrx and kwin- kde4? -- missing shodows in KDE4.1 after suspend with fglrx 8.6 and x1900xtx
