Thank you for reporting this issue. Do you have problems copy+pasting in
other software, too? Or is this only happening in Pidgin? I tried with
version 2.5.0 in intrepid and can't reproduce this.

Cannot copy and paste in chat
I have copy and paste problem ONLY in Pidgin. The issue is that I cannot
copy and paste by using the middle mouse button, which I have no problem
with the previous version of pidgin.
