Hi [osoriag], I had the same problem, but if you use an editor you could
modify the value, delete the "0", put "1", and save... it worked for me.
Here is an example:

sudo echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/bcm43xx/\:06\:06.0/led
and I got this:

then I log into root:

The led on dv1000 is disabled by default. You can enable wlan leds with the
following command as root:
% echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw2200/\:02\:06.0/led
This applies for dv1245
By the way, NetworkManager and the Kill switch work perfectly for me
with Ubuntu 7.04, aside from the fact the the Kill switch LED doesn't
come on whenever the Kill switch is disabled (e.g. the WIFI signal is
ON).

I have a HP dv1240us. In my case, this command successfully enables the Kill
switch button LED:
echo 0 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw2200/\:01\:06.0/led
However, I would really prefer that the ipw2200 driver took care of enabling
the LED automatically! This is the way it should work.
