option.patch adds a --updates option to ltsp-build-clients, this could
easily be made the default.
Once this is fixed, please could we have it backported to hardy as well?

note that the CD install does exactly that since intrepid (through
copying over the servers sources.list), adding proper code for it to the
components plugin for doing it directly in ltsp-build-client is a lot
harder though, but should happen in jaunty.
