Same problem here since installing Intrepid. With the new iwlagn module,
that is (5300 model).
Killing dbus and manually configuring wpa_supplicant does the job. So it
is a NetworkManager problem, I suppose.

I confirm the behaviour, same configuration (kernel, network-manager,

Further information: plugging into a wired ethernet connection works
perfectly, with icon updates, notifications, and successfuly network
connection.
