I also could reproduce this exact backtrace when I first upgraded to
Intrepid and installed this applet, under similar circumstances. (Not
entirely reproducible, but clicking on buttons in the applet would often
cause it to crash). It's not doing it today though, having restarted my
machine. Not
Hmm, this is weird... If i execute it from the terminal, I only get
warnings and I don't get any failure notification, however, If I execute
it from the panel itself, I get failure notifications, even when the
application doesn't crash.
I'm confused...
Any idea about what's going on?

Could you describe in detail, when exactly the failure report occurs?
It could be related to other bug that has been fixed and patch will be
included in next version (2.23.92)
