I also could reproduce this exact backtrace when I first upgraded to Intrepid and installed this applet, under similar circumstances. (Not entirely reproducible, but clicking on buttons in the applet would often cause it to crash). It's not doing it today though, having restarted my machine. Not

Hmm, this is weird... If i execute it from the terminal, I only get warnings and I don't get any failure notification, however, If I execute it from the panel itself, I get failure notifications, even when the application doesn't crash. I'm confused... Any idea about what's going on? Cheers --

Carlos - just try to run it from console: /usr/lib/hamster-applet/hamster-applet -w and drop in the traceback. one of possible causes could be the evolution thing - make sure that you don't have python-evolution package installed. If you do - uninstall it, since the bindings are now in
