With the latest upstream kernel
(2.6.31-020631rc5-generic_2.6.31-020631rc5) sound recording works great.
So there is no bug in that release.

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . Please then run following command
from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will

I have this problem with gnome-sound-recorder. Interesting enough when I
play the record with vlc there is no problem, but if I use amarok for
example the slow mo effect is present.

Yes, definitely not a problem with audacity itself. I bought the blue
snowflake for voip with skype. The problem occurs with skype, gnome
sound recorder, the gnome sound control panel, and everything else as
far as I can tell. Oddly, there was one brief moment when using gnome
sound recorder that

The problem can be solved by changing the playback rate in audacity,
but that is just a major pain to do for every recording and shouldn't be
required.
