sorry about the lack of obvious info
the previous kernel is 2.6.26-5-generic
the problematic one is 2.6.27-2-generic
from what i can see it maxes out the cpu's i guess thats why its so slow
dmesg is attached

Hi kulight,
When you say it is working fine with previous kernel can you comment
specifically which version of the previous kernel you are talking
about? Was it the 2.6.26 kernel previously available in Intrepid or was
it a 2.6.24 based kernel from Hardy? If you can also attach your dmesg
