Title:
hwclock.sh needs /dev/rtc
To manage notifications about
To fix this bug I make this:
root@server:~# dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
there I select my area, country and city and all was allright.
Before that I install ntpdate with
root@server:~# apt-get install ntpdate
But I dont know if it is needed.

Is there any valid reason why rtc-ppc should not be made a 'builtin' for
the powerpc kernels? Otherwise it seems a simple enough fix.

No, like the rtc-cmos is a builtin on x86, this should be a builtin on
ppc.

This bug is still present in Jaunty powerpc. Now the workaround (adding
the rtc driver module to /etc/modules) does not seem to work since
hwclock.sh is called before the modules in /etc/modules are loaded.
This is the output from hwclock --debug:

A work-around is to add 'rtc-ppc' to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and
run 'update-initramfs -u'.
