I believe that the upgrader makes sure that you're fully up to date with
hardy-updates before starting the upgrade, but Michael is in a position
to either verify or ensure this.

The aforementioned bug (255545) is the problem. Given that this is an
upgrade, it straddles Hardy and Intrepid. Since I have a lot of
computers and packages, I prefer downloading the ISO DVDs.
Even if you backport the fix, is there something in the upgrade process
that would insure Hardy has the
Targeted to Hardy; Intrepid is already fixed (bug 255545).
It's quite valuable in terms of space for us to be able to omit the
uncompressed files from CDs. Admittedly we could get away with leaving
them on the DVD, but the alternate CD would need this too and that's
very tight on space. Michael, c
