This is caused by having the nvidia proprietary drivers installed. They replace libGL with a version that doesn't work for Intel (or radeon), and produces the strange inverted display you see. If you haven't deliberately installed the nvidia drivers then this was probably caused by a bug in a

I am sure, that this is a config corruption, where none Intel drivers interfere with normal graphics setup. The below solution worked for some of us! I usually delete any other video card drivers other than my own card. *Purge* (which also deletes the config) all other xorg drivers except for
