This is caused by having the nvidia proprietary drivers installed. They
replace libGL with a version that doesn't work for Intel (or radeon),
and produces the strange inverted display you see.

I am sure, that this is a config corruption, where none Intel drivers
interfere with normal graphics setup.

logging in using XDMCP remote login, from one 9.04 machine to another
