this was posted on the above post about a week ago, and it worked for
me.
"This occurs because the asus-acpi module sends hotkey events when
connecting to AC power with the wrong code (for the Eee; it's surely the
right one on other Asus laptops).
Comment out all lines in /etc/acpi/events/asus-ma
Same problem, since hardy, not since beginning, as I didn't have
Evolution installed

Still occurring for me as of today on a fully updated Intrepid install.
Is it OK to mark this bug as confirmed given that 3 people can easily
reproduce it?
