Thanks for your report. This appears to be the same as
http://bugs.debian.org/355794 and/or http://bugs.debian.org/307068, and
should be fixed in mouseemu 0.15-3, which is in edgy.

Seems to be OK on my PowerBook G4 in Edgy, version 0.15-3
