Hello, my system just upgraded firefox from 3.5.3 to 3.5.8 and I started
getting this annoying banner. I saw savvas workaround:
Firefox menu File Quit
Then execute in terminal:
sudo killall -9 -r firefox
sudo apt-get purge firefox firefox-3.0 ubufox
sudo apt-get install --reinstall firefox
OK, I did:
sudo apt-get purge firefox firefox-3.5 ubufox
sudo apt-get install --reinstall firefox firefox-3.5 firefox-3.5-gnome-support
And it solved the problem, thanks

I have a freshly installed and updated version of Karmic Koala running with
Firefox 3.5.7
After installing the Adobe Flash plugin I got stuck in the restart loop.
I reset the time, it was out by a minute, and that fixed it.

Firefox 3.0.8. However after Firefox updated to version 3.0.10 the bug

did not appear to help.

You can probably ignore my comments above. I tracked it down to the
'mouse gestures redox' add-on. Uninstalling that made everything go back
to normal.
