Tested with rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.1 from intrepid-
updates, and immediately reproduced the problem again with xfade on
(rhythmbox froze).
Tested with rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 from intrepid-

I have also noticed that when crossfading is enable, rhythmbox uses
75%-100% CPU for some mp3 file I play. Seems like a regression to this
bug:

I found an upstream bug which appears to be the same issue.
There seem to be many symptoms (UI disconnect with song continuing or
stopping, and rhythmbox freezing), but since it's caused by the same
action (moving the slider) and only occurs with crossfade, I think it

I'm having the same/similar issue. Using the xfade backend makes
navigating impossible. If I move the slider, the song will often stop
(while the slider can still be moved, having no effect), or rhythmbox
just freezes. I have attached my log where I got the song-stopping
