would be a reason to look into my config and maybe update it a bit.

So it seems the message godkjennelsen mislyktes means something like
approval failed or denied so it seems like your PAM configuration does
not allow adding new users.

Are you upgrading over the net or upgrading from CD? If upgrading from
CD it could be that you've installed packages from the repos that aren't
on the Hardy CD.
