Public bug reported:

I upgraded my dual athlon x86_64 system when Hardy first came out.
Shortly after I noticed that my printer would no longer work. I don't
print much, and the few times I needed to print I used my other system.
I figuered it was a problem with the 64 bit release, maybe.

Last week I upgraded my x86 system from Gutsy to Hardy. After the
upgrade I couldn't print with it, either.

When I try to print I get about a half a centimeter of the page at the
top of the page, then the printer freezes. If I kill the job and reboot
the printer I can reset the printer, but the same symptom continues.

Since it was working until the upgrade on two computers, and the two
computers were upgraded about 4 onths apart, I don't think it is the
printer. At best, it is some kind of computer printer interaction bug.

I can't find any other information about what is going wrong. I don't
see any errors, or notifications about problems. The configuration
tools believe everything is fine. I'm happy to run experiments for you
if there is information you need.

Thanks,

Michael
