The problem still exists in Interpid. with evince version 2.24.0,
libpoppler3 version 0.8.7, and libfreetype6 version 2.3.7
In the upstream report, The PDF renders correctly with poppler 0.9.3 and
development version of
freetype. You'll need to wait until freetype releases a new version.

in xpdf it looks just like in evince, but acroread renders it
correctly... see attached screenshots

aptitude search ~ifonts gives me:

Helvetica belongs to Adobe. It has been voted the best font of the last 50
years. And it costs $470???
